As part of the pedestrian oriented core of the downtown, The Cappelli Organization created, in conjunction with the City of White Plains, two exciting new parks.
The first is located directly across from City Center and The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester at the strategic corner of Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue. Designed by renowned landscape architects, Sasaki Associates, the focal point of the park is a series of dancing fountains with jets of water in alternating colors that shoot 25 feet into the air and are choreographed to music provided by outdoor speakers. Complementing the dancing fountains is a landscaped lawn with seasonal plantings, seating areas and a Starbucks, housed in a greenhouse-style kiosk – an ideal setting for the many City sponsored outdoor concerts and events.
The second is a vest-pocket park located on Main Street where it meets Mamaroneck Avenue, adjacent to the historical Grace Church. The park, with its beautiful landscaping, waterfall feature and strategically placed seating has become a magnet for both residents and workers from neighboring office buildings who want a peaceful, reflective place to sit and enjoy their lunch, read a book, or just watch the world go by.
